Where engineering becomes a spectacle

In the heart of Dubai, where architecture constantly pushes the boundaries of innovation, SafeRain has participated in a new project by constructing a digital water curtain that reflects its ability to transform an architectural concept into a unique sensory experience.

In October 2025, our team carried out the commissioning and technical training for the digital curtain at The Plaza Uptown Tower in Dubai, one of the city’s most iconic complexes. Located in an exclusive outdoor leisure and dining area, the digital water curtain installation blends seamlessly into the space as a living element, capable of capturing the attention of thousands of visitors each day through images and effects created solely with water and light.

The project was developed in collaboration with Fluidra Middle East, a client of SafeRain and presented a new engineering challenge in which every detail was specifically designed to meet the building’s architectural requirements.

Defying gravity

Each digital curtain project SafeRain is unique. In this case, the main challenge was to create a large-scale elliptical geometry while maintaining a perfectly uniform water flow along its entire length.
The digital curtain is made up of 13 straight 2-meter modules, forming a total perimeter of 26 meters with a 10-meter-high waterfall. To achieve maximum visual definition, the system incorporates 1,040 solenoid valves, controlled in a fully synchronized manner, capable of generating graphics, text, and animations with extraordinary precision.

A unique solution for an impossible geometry

The uniqueness of the project required much more than simply building a digitalwater printer .
The engineering team at SafeRain developed a custom hydraulic system to ensure that each of the 13 modules operated under exactly the same hydraulic conditions, regardless of their position within the ellipse.
To achieve this, a network of supply and return manifolds was designed to distribute the flow evenly along the entire perimeter, minimizing pressure losses and ensuring uniform visual quality throughout the installation.
The result is an installation where technology, engineering, and architecture work in unison.

From Paper to the Extraordinary

The final phase of the project was carried out by specialized technicians SafeRain who traveled to Dubai.
During the commissioning of the SafeRain has participated in a new project to build a digital water curtain each of the systems was inspected and verified. The hydraulic and electronic parameters were adjusted, and the issues typical of an installation of this complexity were resolved.
The work was carried out under particularly demanding conditions due to the working height, the difficulty of accessing certain components, and the limited space available for adjustment and maintenance operations.
The team’s responsiveness even allowed them to adapt the control panel to new local regulatory requirements that arose during the project’s execution, ensuring that the digital curtain remained fully operational and ready for use.

We do not merely supply systems

To ensure the client's autonomy, SafeRain they provided technical training to their counterparts on the local team. This training covered software operation, the functioning of the facility’s electrical panel digital water curtain, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting, among other topics.
The goal was not merely to deliver a system, but to ensure that the client had the necessary knowledge to maintain its maximum performance throughout its entire service life.
